Tuna Macaroni Bake

This recipe was popular in the 60's. It was one of the first tuna casserole's and is still a great comfort food today.  It's easy to make and has all the ingredients that are usually on hand.

This can also be made with the same size can of chicken. Sometimes I add mushrooms and English peas. READY IN: 20mins SERVES: 4 UNITS: US INGREDIENTS 

1 cup noodles 
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup milk 
1 (7 ounce) canned tuna, drained
Zest of 1/2 lemon
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup potato chips
3 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese 

Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender. Drain and add soup, milk, tuna, lemon zest, pepper, salt and 2 cups cheese.  Mix well.  Put in shallow baking dish; cover with potato chips mixed with remaining cheese.  Bake at 350 F for about 40 minutes.
